Welcome to the home of the U.S.S. Lafitte! We are a local Star Trek/Sci-Fi Fantasy club out of Lake Charles Louisiana. Our group is also a proud member of Starfleet International the premier Worldwide Star Trek Fan Group. Our ship resides in Region 3 of this fantastic organization.
In 2017 our staff took a year to reflect and work on much needed projects and catch up on life itself. Last year presented a lot of challenges and of course great rewards as well. With so many things going on our website and events pages were neglected which happens when life gets in the way.
2017 was a great year in many respects, and also not so great. Last year we had a few new members join us and some that moved on to new adventures. We attended many local and nationwide conventions such as CyPhaCon and DragonCon; along with our annual trip to the Texas Renaissance Festival. On a rare occasion we even had an impromptu adventure to the Johnson Space Center in Houston to see the Apollo 11 exhibit. Let’s also not forget the epic winter snowfall event in Lake Charles with 3.5 inches of snow in December! But in retrospect we also had a lot of bad and unfortunate things happen, such as health problems, financial and dealing with some of the aftermath of Harvey.
For 2018 we are going to try and be more up to date and make sure you know what is going on with the Lafitte crew. With this in mind we have completely updated our events/club meeting information under our Club Meetings page and Convention/Events page for 2018.
Our goal for 2018 is to have more like minded people join us at events big or small so we can all geek out together. Many upcoming events will actually give you the chance to talk to us one on one and get to know the crew. One upcoming event is CyPhaCon here in Lake Charles. The Crew of the USS Lafitte will be hosting panels along with our friends from the USS New Orleans. If you ever wanted to know about our group this is your perfect chance!
